Over a three-month period, the Edraak Foundation for Development and Equality conducted nine focus group discussions as part of the project “Enhancing Health Protection for Women and Girls: Her Right to Decide,” in cooperation with AmplifyChange.
The project aims to promote collective action to raise awareness of sexual and reproductive health issues affecting women and girls, address social norms that hinder progress in these areas, and prevent women and girls from being denied priority medical interventions.
A total of 90 participants took part in the sessions, including male and female doctors, women, and girls from Cairo, Upper Egypt, and Lower Egypt. The focus groups were conducted to support the preparation of a study examining the relationship between women and girls and obstetricians and gynecologists, while also contributing to improved access to and utilization of medical services by women and girls.
